Your standard fuel pumps will be sufficient. If they're working and not making any unusual noises
B230FT Swap into 240
Ive just done this conversion and did exactly what BD has said.
Swap ecus, rewire maf (clean it with MAF cleaner while your there, cafefully)
Flipped the steering column which did give more room for the exhaust downpipe.
Used orange top 850 injectors also, just plug then in with new orings and have them serviced beforehand
Clean out your flame trap
Theres a few ways to mount the rad and cooler. As explained above it will make sense when you have it lined up. We used a set of the top brackets on the bottom for our efan and made a simple L bracket to hold the top of the rad to the cooler. Essentially the cooler sits where the rad does and you just need to mount the rad somehow. I can take photos if you like.
Fit an aw71 if you can if not already
Depending on your ecu you may get an engine light like I do. Its the egr from the 940 which the 240 does not have. Ive read somewhere that one can ground or ‘wire it up’ to be tricked into staying off.
* make sure your throttle pulleys are the same size as the original from the gearbox it went with.
I just used the rad/IC mounts from a 740 turbo

I would advise at a minimum to replace the intank one with that of a 740 turbo. While the 240 ones are sufficient, now would be a good time to replace the filter sock as the fuel load will go up as you are going to be running a 3bar FPR instead of the 2.5 and it would be a good idea to make sure the sock is clean so you might as well replace the pump while youre there.
He should already have a 3 bar fpr but should check first
Yeah I would check the part numbers first. 1990+ cars got the 3bar FPR but being the first year of introduction may still have the 2.5bar.
Thanks everyone for all the little tips.
I picked up an AW71 that came out of the same car as the FT so that shouldnt be an issue.
Pretty sure my FPR is 3bar but will double check when I get there anyway.
I had already ordered a new in tank pump before purchasing the FT as I suspected mine was playing up. Bin it and find a FT one, or it'll still do the trick?
Well you already have it, so use it.
