I did notice the pipe from the MAF had a leak in it because whoever worked on it last didnt even put the hose on right and didnt even tighten the hose clamp. Im guessing I should clear the codes first and go from there? There are also two other annoying things. When Im parking the car the horn will go off as I turn the wheel. Unplug that shit? Also the light for what im thinking coolant comes on now and then. Its a red one with a fan in it. Is it telling me the coolant is low? It doesnt look low.

Coolant sensor float is stuck , get that new coolant bottle from Mike as the old ones are prone to crack and you do your head gasket , same fro the radiator end tanks , the heater and hoses and replace the thermostat STAT!
There is a kit to fix the horn issues , there may be an easy fix but i have never looked into it as my cars have never done it.
Mike has code reader.

So the coolant bottle blowing up will blow up my headgasket too? Fark. Ill get a new thermostat too i suppose. Surely the radiator doesnt need replacing?

If you watch temp and check levels of things weekly or at refueling, head gasket isn't super likely to blow.

Do a pressure test , the radiators usually start to leak at end tanks with a weep. No biggy if you keep an eye on levels and esp in very hot weather.
Funnily enough I saved the headvon my old S70T5 on a Melbourne stinking hot summer day , temp gauge starts going up n down then up. Had to drive a little to pull up but turned out to be a spastic looking thermostat when I pulled it! Car now lives happily in QLD!

I've actually been mucking around lately with an ELM327 and DashCommand. Its fairly useful and the logging feature is good.

Some of you may know that the v70 decided to blow its trans up. Its been kept safe at Spacs house for the past 3 months until I get my shit together. Thanks to James it will be back on the road in the next month or so but this time with a nice 5 speed pushing it foward :D

I know it opens on its own. Everytime i pressed it shut after about 50kms it pops back open again!

This weekend I started tearing into the parts car to get at its good bits. James wants the engine so I decided to pull the entire engine and gearbox as one piece. So this happened:

Then I pulled the shifter and pedals out.

I also pulled out the slave and I think at this point of got most things I need. Then I thought I'd have a go at installing the manual shifter into my V70. Was pretty easy to remove and change over.

Tomorrow I might try and put in the manual pedals as well as the master cylinder. Hopefully all goes well and I will have the motivation to keep it when its done!
