  • 1982 244GLE B21a Manual Conversion

Hi all

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction...

As per the subject line I'm looking to carry out a manual conversion on my 82 244GLE B21a BUT I'm in New Zealand and it's near impossible to find parts and/or donor cars.

Can anyone suggest a wrecker in Australia that would be able to put together the complete parts list required for the conversion.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Jay

I will have a complete kit available soon with an M47 five speed, the catch is that M47's don't have a speedo drive, but I could also supply a rear end with electronic speedo sender.

Strapping it all to a pallet and dropping it at a depot for freight to NZ wouldn't be a big deal.

Hey Angus!

Thanks for the reply.

I'm trying to avoid messing with the rear end due the airbag setup which has been a lot of work and is certified so I'm guessing M45/M46 will be my best option...

Get that and do a modern Speedo option that's bandied about on every conversion thread?

Could potentially find someone in Vic who can send an M46 to Angus then he could combine it with everything else and send it on.

Would also need the tailshaft and speedo cable to go with the M46, but it might be an option.

I have a front half shaft for a M46.

So... just after I mention I can NEVER find parts a running 1977 244DL with 4 speed manual pops up for sale in the south island!

I'll try win this auction first as it's a complete donor car.

If I don't win i'll post on this thread again to try find some help.

Thank you for all the replies.

You should leave that car to someone who will not wreck it.

There are plenty of people here who will be happy to sell you whatever parts you need
