  • 850 auto gearbox interchangeability

Just a quick question on 850 models and gearbox. My sons1996 850 T5 auto unfortunately has the bush worn out where the passenger CV goes in ,only discovered after replacing CV. Looks like a gearbox removal or replacement. Have found a 1995 non turbo 850 to purchase for spares and wondering if it's the same box, convertor, etc to change over or is there anything that will cause dramas in doing the swap over?

Cheers

I'm thinking different final drive ratios and different size CV spines.

Where are you?, got one here you can have for a few beer's.

Haha that's the way it goes! Appreciate your offer though!

I think I have one if you don't mind a drive to Sydney?

That doesn't sound too bad, Sydney is only about 4 hours away. I have the car ready for paint, but will look into pulling the gearbox ASAP to double check how difficult it is to replace the bush. Can you let me know what condition and price box is in,can pm if that suits.

@Ex850R I think the splines are the same on all 850s and P80 V70s, it's the axle diameter that changes

Think your right,a quick look online for CV parts showed 92-97 as all having same CV, whether turbo or non turbo.
