Head is torn down ready to go to the machine shop. The flexible claw tool is the perfect tool for pulling the stem seals out.
The stem seals are rock solid. Same for valve hushers. VX3 cam, journals and cam lobes all look nice, no scoring. Valve stems are in-spec. I think even without the head gasket blowing, the head was due for an overhaul. I'm hoping once I get everything rebuilt and dialled in properly we might start seeing something closer to the factory 131hp this motor allegedly makes. I ran the cam on the lathe with some Scotchbrite and WD40 to get rid of the varnish and knock any high spots off the cam seal area.
