More of the same, all buttoned up again now.

Road noise reduction is about 30%, Its almost uncomfortably quiet while sitting at the lights

In the rear I lined the foot wells with Car builders stage 2 acoustic foam to help prevent exhaust noise and heat transmission.

Re clocked the bowden tubes for the seat rails

Waiting on some NOS Sachs gas shocks for the rear to go in this week :D

L like this insulation work, a man after my own heart! Doing this on mu ultimately scrapped v70r was actually cathartic too haha!

I paid a lot of attention to under the windscreen in the tight spot but the glass itself lets a lot of noise through i expect thats sn impossible thing to overcome , perhaps bullet proof? Car is called Tony , gangster name if i ever heard one!

It's the perfect name for the perfect luxo-barge

By comparison ive actually not gone too crazy with deadening, the S90 was already fantastic, but now it's better.

When the T6 goes in Ill have to upsize the exhaust, a lot of these efforts have gone towards maintaining a similar level of NVH when I need replacing the stock cat, resonator and muffler.

It'll never be Rolls Royce levels of serenity, or even that of a reasonably well built suv - the old mans 2018 Subaru Outback is extremely quiet and smooth inside, How the Subaru will be in 20 years I dont know, but right now the S90 is bloody good.

I've got some rods on their way and im hoping to have the bottom end re-assembled in the next few weeks, ready for the current head to be pulled from the B6304 - cleaned up and dropped onto its B6284T block & spinny bits.

For the dumb that dont know the motor designations ( and too lazy to check ) which one is this T6?

And , what turbo is going in or staying N/A?

As always , more pix please! Im living vicariously on others car mods these days , not got the mojo to do it anymore....

B6284T is the 2.8L T6 motor, commonly found in everybody's favourite 1st gen S80 T6

The turbo ill be going with is a big old Holset HX40, coupled with a nice exhaust housing and I should see spool at about 3,000 rpm which would be terrific with the HD 3K stall converter Ive had built for it

Out with the old bouncy bois, in with the new less bouncy bois

Old shocks amazingly hadnt lost much of their gas as they would still return to their fully extended position after compression, but their dampening ability was noticeably compromised when compressing them against the ground on removal.

Currently looking for some interior bits

Ghettobird

Hey all

Im looking for a set - or just whatever good S90/960 door cards I can get to fix up my S90 a bit, Mine is a 97 and has the grey leather interior with brown wood trim,

The vinyl on these shrinks with UVL exposure over time and pulls off the top of the card looking wrinkled and crap.

My drivers side is amazingly the best of the cards with no shrinkage, but id love a full set of good cards.

Happy to pay freight for a good set, let me know what you've got!

They dont have to be perfect, just better than what I have already as I may end up having these professionally recovered.

PFA - Im looking for the newer curvy face lift type like these.

Pet peeve - dampening vs. damping...of course either is acceptable I guess, but I think of dampening as making wet...where as damping as to damp vibration. When talking about cars, you can save yourself a few keystrokes many times by using damping instead of dampening! Is it inertial dampers or inertial dampeners? Star Trek fans? LOL! Good work!

    Both are correct.

I think damping is American, dampening is English/Australian.

Yeah, either is acceptable...guess being of American background it must just be a preference! :) Must get used to adding unnecessary syllableblebles to my words! ;)
