Momo has been a bit harsh on bumps lately, took a look at the front suspension and found the rear control arm bushings were shot.
I forget when I put the old ones in, but they weren't that old. They were Uro I think. The new ones are Volvo OEM.
Interestingly, both the old ones and the OEM ones say they were made in West Germany, although the markings are otherwise different. So both are quite old patterns maybe? 🤷♂️
Old:

New (it's not split, that's a shadow):

While I was looking at the car, I noticed oil staining around the front rotors. I took the hubs off and found they had almost no grease, and the rear seals were hard and cracking, so the grease has been slowly getting flung out over time it seems.
The bearings seemed okay, but I decided seeing as I had new bearing kits in the parts stash, may as well just replace them, and that's what I did.
You can see how much grease was coming out:

Rebuilt:

And finally, a bunch of grease in the hub cap:

- Bearing kits were Volvo 273161 from Skandix (NB these bearings are for -78 240s only, later ones have larger spindles).
- Bearing grease was Penrite high temp wheel bearing grease
Also, I've ordered a set of IPD springs.
