After a “challenging” day yesterday where life was a series of spot fires and two potential bushfires, I took a desperately needed mental health day today.
So the blue rings from the Noltec tops are needed to allow clearance for the M6 bolt heads.
They required a bit of modification to fit.
Overall height is still lower than the Noltec tops.
Modified the Noltec spacers to fit into the Chinabay tops using a drill and an angle grinder together as a very make-shift lathe. Do not recommend, but it got the job done.
Top nuts were easy. Again, a lathe would be a nicer option, but for a temporary set of struts, this will be fine.
And they fit. Not much clearance under the tower, but enough.
They will be a nightmare to adjust - pretty sure that I will have to drop the struts down and then fiddle with the M6 bolts through the hole in the tower.
Or remove the whole strut.
Also got the power steering cooler fitted, and plumbed, but forgot to take photos. [Edit: Nope, here they are]
Engine is full of oil … and the sump is cracked. About a drip per minute. That’s a job for Future Nathan.
