Is it better value just to get the Ford ('e-focus') mount?

At doubble the cost of a efocus mount... I doubt its doubble as good
I wouldnt use a mount with a urethane core/insert here.
Most of the urtehane ones I've seen fail relatively early or elongate/stretch as they're an inappropriate shore (hardness).

The eFocus moment that the internet refers to is actually, to us in Australia, an MA-MC Mondeo mount.
It's a good upgrade/solution. At 170k, if yours is original, it may be a little tired.

There's a pic of it in my Focus thread.
Thanks Ash, sounds like that's the best solution.

So good looking that VW seem to have pinched the shape for the Scirocco

I'm kind of thinking about getting new wheels for this at some point. I actually don't mind the ones that are on it, but ideally I'd prefer something more like this:
https://ozvolvo.org/discussion/6466/deano-s-c30-t5-r-design/p4 (scroll towards the bottom).
There is also a 40% off sale at Ozzy Tyres at the moment which I'm tempted by.

Should I stick with 18" or go to 19"?
I assume that 18s will ride better and be cheaper to get tyres for, but won't look as good.
Looks is entirely your own preference. Not many these days look at a car and see wheels....And others may do and like your choice so do what works for you, comfort or looking at it in the garage at night . Then again, you could Photoshop the wheels on and enjoy a cheap option ....look at a photo!

For outright handling on the street, legend has it that 17" offers the best performance.

Those dark ones on Deano's car look nice in my opinion. I have 18s (Atreus) on my C30 T5-R and would probably not go larger unless the roads where you live are very smooth...the ride is already fairly firm in the R, so going to even less rubber between you and the road will make things worse. And as you said tyre cost probably goes up from 18 to 19 inch. Look forward to seeing what you decide.
OK I think at this stage I'd probably look at just staying with 18".
Looking at the 18" version of the ones on Deano's car, they don't list the offset, but they are 8.5" wide. Is that width likely to cause any issues?

That sounds pretty wide. I think the Atreus are 18x7?? I’m sure somebody here will chime in.

Just checked - the Atreus are 18x7.5, so 8” may not be bad depending on offset.
Running 18x8 on my lowered s40 with 225 road race rubber and zilch issues

Coilovers give you a bit more clearance over stock struts and C30 have narrower front guards compared to s40

8.5 didn't cause any issues rubbing or otherwise and that's running Bilstein b14's. However I fitted the larger front calipers and the clearance from wheel to caliper was tight to keep the width in line with the front guards. Definitely the comfortable limit. Can't remember the offset. Would have to find the paperwork. Grip grip grip
@Dean I also have the big brakes. Do you mean the clearance was tight between the curved part of the caliper and the inside diameter of the wheel, or between the outside of the caliper and the spokes of the wheel? I assume the latter as I am currently running aftermarket 18's and brake clearance is fine, but the Hussla wheels might be a different offset.

Outside of the caliper and the spoke of the wheel.

Does anyone know of a short shifter kit made for these?
I've seen a couple online but they don't seem to be available anymore.

Went for a run out on Corin Rd with a friend who has an Audi S4.

I didn't really have any trouble keeping up with him, which isn't bad considering he has a twin turbo V6 and AWD.

Nice colour combination on the 2 cars!
