New genuine air flow meter was $770.. :O so i purchased a genuine item through bosch for $280.. exact same part number.

Worked a treat!!! very happy.

Have spent a total of about 200 hours cleaning the inside, removed all of the seats/carpets console door cards etc and cleaned them one at a time. I stand by the fact that this is the filthiest car i have ever had to clean. Cigarette buts, dog hair, grease, you name it. an absolute disgrace. It is starting to look like someone loves it. The drivers seat being my biggest concern, don't know if i am going to be able to get all of the filth out of the suede.

I now have to track down a beige manual gearknob ..

A dealer or proper mechanic with an electrickery diagnostic box could do it.

Painted the grille up. Fitted remote locking and alarm. Removed the cheap aftermarket stereo and fitted a genuine Volvo Item. Luckily the standard amp was still sitting there. Replaced both windscreen side strips with cut down items from a sedan. Repaired the in-cluster boost guage. Replaced blown dash lights, park lights, number plate lights and brake lights. Replaced the broken interior light switch. Replaced the broken centre rear vision mirror. Replace rear window weather strips. Remove the service light.

It was missing a beige speaker cover so i have fitted a set of black ones, it looks ok for now but i will try to track down the correct one eventually. also need a rhf fog light, does anyone know if they are the same as anything else or are they unique to the 850R.

Removed wheels, checked brakes, cleaned everything, painted calipers, rolled guard lips, they were rubbing slightly at the front on full lock and i am going to drop the rear a little more.

Replaced all vacuum hoses, glad i did as i found more than a couple split.

I still have an engine light on despite it running quite well, waiting for my scan tool to show up.. i suspect O2 sensor... we'll see

I have a pile of other parts on the way thanks to a few of you. Hopefully that will keep me busy next weekend.

Getting much cleaner.. not perfect yet but getting there.

I need to find a set of V70 seats for the 740. They look way better than my tatty old leather seats.

If you can find T5 seats you get leather/alcantara and shouldnt be too exxy. Regular seats can be $50....

Rob , have you got a guard roller ? Maybe that could come down with the courier bag for the spoiler and sent back with return bag? I would love a loan ! Swaps if you want? Yes , the fogs on the R are only found on R lower dam , but that gets used on T5 and i have seen it on regular 850s and of course new on ebay which would be good , the glass , although an inch thick gets shabby. Have you done the breather box etc? That may do a code in conjunction with O2 , cat may be crapped , it may do it , MAS may/may not be on its way out. Les,

Actually i may have a source of black interior 850R bits (apart from my own which i saved from the wreck ), not sure and i would need confirmation of cash gonna be paid before i go there , how does that sit? L

I do indeed have a guard roller.. happy to lend it to you.... Didn't know i was sending you a courier bag? i might have missed something.

Rob , the one about R seats was about James's wish for R seats in his 740. The courier bit is in regard to the to and fro that may be done if you are up for swaps on the loan of the roller with the rear wing that i have and is a generalisation done in haste. Tell me , how much of a push out can the roller do or is it just a lip roller? L.

It is one of these, I have managed to push guards out quite a bit.

Would happily swap you the use of this for the wing.. And I will cover the freight. PM me your address and i will get it off to you tomorrow. Take your time, i wont be needing it any time soon.

New grille emblem turned up today... not 100% convinced but it is certainly different.

also got new wheel centre caps (photo taken before brake cleanup and paint)

still need to fix a bit of minor gutter rash

Also received my scan tool today. Cleared all faults, tool tells me the MIL light is off but it is quite clearly on.... weird.

I like the wheel caps , have a set meself from FCPs i think , the grille , mmmm . i thought it would be good but now i prefer the original black...YKnow you can get a billet oil filler cap that takes the wheel centre caps inset on the top? IPD and some others have em... R wheels come in two shades of anthracite , make em darker if you can ! I got the saab wheels done in dark powder coat with a nice multi spakle , yet to go on , i have some Michelin Pilot sport 3s on two of em ready to go but will roll the guard first now !Did you find new fogs? I put HIDs in the S70 T5 fogs , one failed on start...dont buy cheap HIDs . Now considering LEDs if the ugkly 4WD type can be hidden in the spoiler ? I dont know , too many other things yet.. Lookin really good Rob!
