There was a low mileage V8 (59k kays) up for sale in SA recently for a really sweet price, and it unfortunately got away.
V8s are getting hard to find with less than 100k kays on them. You might as well take it for a test drive - it should go up and down smoothly and not flare or 'hang on' to gears. If you like it, get it, and invest in some seat covers. :) . That V8 has the sweetest sound and goes like stink without being a big gulper. You can tell your missus they were $100k when new, and they're rare and desirable, while being priced the same as some bland Korean turd.

I don't agree. Flushes become a problem if the fluid has turned black, and at that point, the 'floaties' actually assist in keeping the worn clutches working. Problem is the particles have already begun to wear the valve bodies. Yes, flushing a transmission worn to this point
is going to shorten its operational life, but then again, its operational life has already been compromised; it will not last as long as one that was flushed early and before the damage was done.
Our V8 S80 was flushed at ~105k km and Stu said it had either been driven by Grandma, or there'd been a fluid flush done before then. It was still pretty dirty. We've put another 12,000 kays on the car since the flush and we've had no issues.
In this case, we're taking about a fairly low mileage for age unit, so doing a flush before the fluid gets to the point of no return isn't a bad idea IMO, and at 89k kays, it's right on the edge.
