Hey guys I'm looking an 850r engine . Mine is toast
Philia_Bear
I have multiple T5 motors up for grabs
Where in aus are you
Also.. what went toast on the R motor
Matt850R
Lost oil presssure and developed multitude of issues my mechanic thinks . I'm in Tasmania but would happily pay freight from wherever for a decent engine

Keep the motor to fix up later, if the car is a good one, matching numbers to keep it somewhat of an appreciating asset.
Berry Motor Group will have.
Maybe an RN version swap?

Voldat has 5 T5 motors off the top of my head with documented history
Matching numbers is personal pref, RN swap is over rated & not without its drawbacks - We dont live in the US, we dont have the full spec late 2.3l T5 donks the yanks have
The damage low oil pressure causes will probably render your current engine a big oily paperweight, chances are the crank is scored, bearings stuffed, scored bore, cam journals & cams would all be toast. Not worth the effort when there are plenty of healthier 95-98 T5 motors getting around, although at this point most have higher kms & are due for valvestem seals if they havnt been done yet.
Maybe itd be an idea to have an engine freshened up Inland and sent to you ready for swap over? I sure do prefer working on engines on a stand :D

Thanks everyone for all the knowledge . Will be going with a t5 engine but it will have a spruce up before going in as i will be getting a BSR stage 2 tune once its back on the road
Ghettobird
Wouldnt waste your money or time with the BSR stuff, there are far better & safer options than going with them
