Hey all. I have a question about the sunroof drains in my V70R. Currently it seems as though most of the water makes its way to the rear cargo space where it sits in a small well on both the left and right side of the car. I doubt this is how it is designed to drain, so I am guessing I need to check/clean the sunroof hoses?
From my understanding the wells in the cargo space, currently collecting water, are for sound absorption rather than water... but I could be completely wrong. If someone can set the story straight I would really appreciate it.
Here is a shot of the right hand side well, the noise trap hose and device seem to just flop around in there and do not connect to anything. There is a grommet with some electrical wiring and a much smaller hole for water to escape... but the water mainly just collects in the well and eventually dries out:
Right hand side showing where the hose runs up to the sunroof:
Left hand side well showing the noise trap actually connecting to a rubber grommet that is the right size/shape, and drains correctly to the outside:
Left hand side showing where the hose runs, similar path to the right hand side:
Left hand side grommet, perfect match to connect to the little black plastic noise trap thing, completely different to the right hand side, despite the right hand side having the same connection:
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I have a replacement sunroof assembly I can install but I want to try and avoid that if possible, as I am sure it will be something simple or logical, such as a blocked drain or the wrong black plastic bit on the right hand side.
Thanks in advance.
