Forging the car's log book can be done, but proving the car had an actual Group A racing history would be impossible.
There are enough "lost" cars to "find" one of them
Also afaik the rules say as long as you recover like 15% of the car by weight you can fully restore it
There are some Porsche historic cars where they have been legit restored 2x because 2 people each got half the floor pan
Also... cars can be (and frequently are) in 2 places at once
Piles of stuff where the car is racing in USA and Europe at same time and no one notices because no one is talking about it or assumes the cars are different
