Eugene Hi, I have a 96 850R Turbo Wagon and have replaced all vacuum lines with silicone hoses and even used the Snabb silicone throttle body hose to replace the rubber one which I had. The lambda light comes on occasionally, then it goes. But I can't understand why my pick-up is kind of slow? Could it be a leak somewhere or needs a re-tune? When I start the car there is a bit of struggle. Fuel pump perhaps? Anyone had similar issues with this model?
timbo Is it still running the original turbo control valve? Also do you know if the wastegate is setup correctly?
brock I would check all of the other vacuum lines for leaks, a good turbo control valve and properly adjusted wastegate will make a lot of difference.
nickm If it is a 96 Auto R. You need a 12 volt LED and switch or paper clip to get the code an OBD2 reader will not work.
Eugene Will have to ask the mods specialist to look at the TCV and wastegate then. To my knowledge, still the original TCV. So it is not due to intercooler issues or turbo coming to end of its life?
nickm I have a leaking CBV playing games with me ATM. Get the codes if you can it may not be boost related. But the whole system is very sensitive to vacuum leaks. Are all the PCV lines good?
Eugene Yes, new PCV fitted and samco sport silicone lines to replace vaccum lines. But no more Lambda light now....so probably the lamda sensor itself? Would a CBV from ARD or Snabb plus a new TCV help?
nickm Don't throw parts at it. Get a 12 Volt LED some Wire and a push button momentary action switch. You will get the codes for engine ECC and cruise control.
gavinh @Eugene if your not keen and struggling to get the codes/diagnose it. drop it in to Swedish auto in ozzy Park, get them to do a service on it, pull the codes and take it from there. + we get discount
Eugene Hi Gav! Yes, that's what I will do. In fact I recently did my vacuum lines and subframe mounts with them and James and the team are really good. Do you order your parts online too?
gavinh Yeah most of the stuff I do but it's all serviceable parts as im not really into mods, usually order from the uk or us and usually a big order. As I work away too I have time to work out the cost and savings.
