DocSayers Hello, I picked up a 2006 S40 T5 AWD a couple of weeks ago and am loving it. Am wanting to give it a bit more pep and get the ride height sorted. probably pick up some 18" wheels. Have some questions; 1. Is an ECU flash worth while? Was told they realy respond well from just a flash and are alot more responsive. 2. What size wheel/ tire combos fit? Do other models fit? Thanks in advance
Chris Yes, tune and suspension mods abound. @Philia_Bear @AshDVS are a good start, and there are a number of T5 owners on the forum
carnut222 I have the MTE tune on my C30 T5 from Mark Richardson at VP Tuning www.vptuning.com.au in Melbourne. Very happy with the performance and also economy...amazing! Where are you located? Factory 18 inch wheels with 215/45R18 tyres on it as well...should also fit your S40. Steering limit stops may be required with the wider tyres...
DocSayers Thanks carnut, I'm in Melbourne. I spoke to Mark at VP about a tune. Not cheap but think I will end up going that way. So anything bigger thasn 215 will rub? Do the late model wheels from other models fit or are the offsets to differant???
DocSayers Anyone know what my options are for Bluetooth? Do Volvo make a kit that adapts the oem stero system?? This one?
Chris There's was a Bluetooth add on but it is for phone only not music streaming. Some had leads for aux input in the lidded console

There's probably more info on forums such as C30 crew or possibly Google it. This website has some good info about wheel and tyre sizes. I just looked at C30 and it says up to 235 width...not sure how accurate that is. I need to recheck mine as maybe they're 225? http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/Volvo/C30%20(2006%20-%202012).html
cubic25 carnut222;110662 wrote 235 width I have 235 on my V50. The same wheels were on my previous C30. They scrub. I only got them because they are cheaper, as they are a more common size. I think I'm just going to get 225 next time.
VolvoDeger I have just taken out a blue tooth kit out of a 2007 s40 if interested complete with long cable to rear of car

DocSayers Would a 18x8 rim with a 45 offset rub more? Standard offset is 48.5.......... is that correct for my 2006.

They are $50 a tyre more than 215/45s for re003 tyres. For 205/45/17 that is. 225/45 is slightly more and then 235/45 is cheaper. Frustrating.
