gavinh So last night I finally went to replace the clock in the 240 after almost a year of not working. Anyway replaced the clock and found the one from the other 240 I have(was working 20 mins before hand) now isn't working. Tested the spades, yep no power, pulled about the dash to find out were it went (behind the Rev counter on the cluster) no power there either. Thought my cluster might have a busted track or something. At that point I stopped it was dinner time and the kids were getting hungry. Last night I pulled the manual and had a quick look at the wiring diagrams to see if there were any other possibilities. So thismorning with a fresh head, pulled the fuse cover only to find on close inspection #8 fuse was blown. Moral of the story don't go looking for fault that aren't there.

familyman I want to know where to get a fresh head. Seems a high number of people in Canberra could sure use a new one.

gavinh Occam's razor (or Ockham's razor) is a principle from philosophy. Suppose there exist two explanations for an occurrence. In this case, the simpler one is usually better. Another way of saying it is that the more assumptions you have to make, the more unlikely an explanation is. Or Murphys law
