I got sick of my R 5spd, just wrong when I needed it most, forget winding tight road blasts like the G O Road, just frustrating.

Bro in laws Civic VTIR was much more fun down the GOR.

I already have an exchange gearbox with new bearings, quaife, 94 T5 Manual driveshafts, clutch, fw

I rekon my 5 speed will be fine

So the flywheel and clutch come from the Ford as well?
I remember Lookforjoe did the M66 AWD box in his frankensteined XCR but not the details.
I should do this box on my R as FWD for now till an AWD box comes up....
I don't know how good my awd bits are...

@Ex850R Given that this is the fwd m66 box I'm fairly sure that you'll keep your R flywheel and R pressure plate and all that you need to do is change the clutch plate itself to accommodate the larger diameter shaft on the m66. I believe that this would be the Sachs SD693 which retails for around $80.
I've not done the m56 to m66 swap over yet but have parts on the way to do this very thing.
Of course there are a bunch of other minor issues to address like linkage cable adjustment, possibly rewiring the speed sensor depending on the existing setup, changes to the rear engine mount but not much more than this. Sounds easy but time will tell.

Sounds good. As the whole subframe needs to come out for motor and steering rack replacement it would be easier.
Less so is the fact it's an auto....
Many more bits needed....
Maybe its a further project, the one with forged conrods etc..... That is the existing motor hipo project....

Sub frame isnt really that much of an added difficulty, My main issue is that I have a quaife already for my M56H and I know for sure its an absolute MINT gearbox, so would have a real hard time flipping it

Don't the diffs interchange between M56 & 66?
IE: Buy the M66 and fit the Quaife to it.
