Hi and welcome Dave. As far as value, they're not worth much unfortunately, they aren't well known or desirable among the greater "old car" community, but they have a small devoted following. Manual models are relatively rare, with 80ish% of production being auto's, they're worth slightly more.
If you have an interest in the car, I'd vote for keeping it vs. selling, as you won't get any serious money for it, and it sounds like it's been looked after.
Stud pattern for the wheels is 5x108, same as most other Volvo's, Holden up to HG, Torana, Ferrari, later model FoMoCo stuff like Focus, Mazda, Jag etc. FWD Volvo wheels require spacers due to the big difference in offset, early Holden wheels are also an incorrect offset, they fit and fill out the guards well, but usually require mods to the lips of the rear outer guards.
I've got a '74 164E which I've done some cosmetic mods to, it has an early front bumper and grille so looks similar to your '70 from the front, I've got a set of 15x7" Simmons V5's with silver centres on it, and it's got lowered springs. No pics of it with this setup unfortunately, and there's a car parked beside it that prevents me from taking any at the moment, but once I move that I'll take some for you.
Here are some (much) older pics of the car:

There aren't many performance engine parts available, things like cams and headers can be bought from Sweden but they're expensive as hell.

davem wroteHi Guys. New to this forum. Have just inherited a 70 odd 164 (not E). Just had some questions thought you guys could help with. Any ideas on the value of these? don't see them for sale much. Mine is in excellent mechanical condition with engine and gearbox work done a few years back and barely driven since. Body is good with no rust (some surface rust) but the paint is pretty ordinary. easy fix through with a quick rub back and new paint. Had suspension work also a few years back so she's pretty solid. Wondering if its worth the effort to paint it or would i advertise as is?
Other option is to keep it and do some work to it as its a pretty cool old beast. What wheels are compatible if i search for new wheels (has original but thought it might look good lowered with some gold simmons). Also some help with engine mods would be great. Car arrives on tuesday and can post some pics then.
Cheers
Dave
