Due to a change of project plans I have a 1976 244DL for sale, it needs work but has lots of potential.
Mustard yellow, brown interior, B21E K-Jet engine, M45 four speed manual gearbox, odometer shows 50,000km (probably not correct), has a towbar, Volvo casette player etc.
The car sat for about eight years and the paint is dull, and it has rust in some areas. However the paint polishes up very nicely, and it only has one dent, in the left sill. It has some bad rust in a few places but it's isolated to certain areas, many of the areas where 240's commonly rust are fine on this car, such as below the windscreen and rear window. It has rust in the right sill towards the front, the left sill towards the back, the left quarter panel behind the wheel, and a small amount in the driver's floor.
For extra cost, I will cut repair sections from a rust free shell and supply them with the car, or we can negotiate for me to cut out the rust and weld in the sections at extra cost.
The grille isn't fitted but is included and is in good shape. All the lights are in great shape except for one of the front lenses, I can supply a good one at extra cost. The bootlid doesn't shut properly due to an issue with the seal, it may need another seal. I think there is a small amount of rust on the underside of the bootlid around the seal area.
It hasn't been started for many years so mechanically it's unknown, but apparently it was parked due to a faulty ignition module, and all the major mechanical components were supposedly in good nick at the time. I would expect it to need brake work, bushes, exhaust etc. etc. as with other project cars. I have a good B23E available at extra cost if the buyer wants a bit of a power upgrade. The diff is probably a 3.91 ratio but I haven't checked the tag.
Interior wise, the dash top is cracked, I can supply a better one at extra cost. Carpet and door trims look reasonable, as do most of the smaller parts. Seats look pretty average, I can supply a good set in a slightly lighter colour cloth for $50 the set.
It is 100% complete, even the hubcap for the LHF wheel is in the car.
Asking $350. Car is located in Amphitheatre VIC, just over two hours from the Melbourne CBD. I have a 4WD and car trailer and will consider delivery to Melbourne, Geelong, Ballarat or Bendigo at extra cost.
