So, for those that don't know, Tassie is a small place and I've got to say there is a small, but hardy band of Volvo enthusiasts and today three of them got together - @carnut1100 had some his fleet up for grabs and I managed to fill the boot of my Range Rover with the good stuff - including a tacho and fog light grill to suit my 78 244 so I'm a pretty happy guy. The other guy we met was Steve, who as it turns out had most of the suspension out of a 240 wagon I sold a couple of years ago. Anyhow, it is a nice to meet up.

Nice collection :) Hide that tacho away, I might come chasing...

Volvo bits in RR, the strongest fire retardant. :-D

Mate of mine had a stack of 140 bits in his Nissan Patrol. He ended up making the top half of the 1974 centre console with the switches into a nice switch and gauge pod for the Patrol. There were a few other little bits and pieces he had there too. The Patrol succumbed to rust and was already on a Holden engine when I last saw it in the 90s.

Cheers mate!
It was hard letting some of my precious parts hoard go...but I couldn't think of a nicer bloke to let them go to!
It was an absolute pleasure doing business with you, and a true joy to make your acquaintance!
I told my wife what you said about us sharing the same disease, liking Volvos, Range Rovers, Peugeots and Renaults and old Mercs....she laughed and said that it validated her theory that it was a specific sickness, and maybe she should start a wives' support group!
I would dearly love to see the beast when my parts have found their way into it!
Also, thanks for the sentiment Jon! You're always welcome back here mate!

What sort of Renaults? I have a bit of a thing for 12s snd 19s
carnut1100
I haven't got any Renaults, but as a kid we had a 10 and a 16TS as family cars, my sister's first car was a Fuego...always wanted to build a 12 Gordini replica as close as possible to original. They had 16TS motor with the 16TX 5 speed gearbox and twin Webers. 16TS motor is easy, 5 speed from an 18 can be adapted pretty easy into a 12, and Weber pattern throttle bodies with EFi......
One day...
Fuegos are also awesome! Might be a bit ugly, but man are they fun!

I liked the Fuego. My dad's middle brother was a big Renault owner in the 70s and 80s. Then in 1988 he just started buying Camry's.
I had a TAFE teacher with a 12 which was that plum colour they came in. Everytime it got a dent or scrape they'd put a sticker over it. There were so many stickers on the old car. They had it for years and years and drove it everywhere.
It was their preferred car over their modern Japanese car.

I saw 5 Fuego's in a paddock on the way home from @carnut1100's house!

Yeah....I've had a very fun blast on the local twisty roads in one of those...he tried to sell them to me!
They are all for sale...he's a mate of mine, if anyone wants Fuegos I can put you in touch!

Fuego seats are amazing.
