240s - The year change from flat flywheel to stepped/dished = the year change from B21/B23//B230E M46 +OD box to
B230F with EFI engines and M47 box -(for the Australian market that is).
B230E pre smog- 1 year only to 1985 and a half. 1986 B230F was smog version with suffocating M cam LH2.2, later 2.4).
Summary: Flat fly from all pre 1986 240s, and stepped from then with EFI managemed fuel injection.
The new B230 engines had lower friction and smoother idle = heavier flywheel with ring of mass on the very outside dia of the wheel.
An older flat flywheel bolts up perfectly to B230E/F engine mated to a M46+OD / Supra. I haven't checked a M47 input shaft length to see if it mates with flat, as length difference could be either in bell housing of simply shaft length, not sure.
* if someone gives me the exact length of a M47 bell and the distance the input shaft pokes out from the gearbox face, then we could work out the answer.
