  • [SOLD] [Sydney] 1996 Volvo 850R wagon, auto, 11 months rego - $4000

I'm selling my 850R (to buy a C30 T5 *gasp*)

I love wagons and I love the 850R and still can't believe Volvo actually made something so good, but with the 244dl now complete I want to sell this and lease a much newer used car through my employer.

Bad
* Paint on the roof is oxidised
* Some scratches on the bumpers
* D pillar paint has also been damaged
* Paint is generally pretty average
* Driver's seat back could use a new skin
* One of the two handbrake cables needs looking at - tension or replace

Good
* New seat bottoms
* Freshly rebuild CV shafts (the stronger type, taken from a manual V70 T5)
* Brand new 302mm front rotors and pads
* New drivebelt and drivebelt tensioner and pulley
* Have cleaned up the suspension a bit, only thing left on my list is to do the swaybar bushings and drop links
* Comes with urethane control arm bushings
* All tyres with > 50% of their working life left
* New CBV on the turbo
* Koni sports front struts
* Nivomat rears (working well, it levels itself nicely with a trailer)
* Working A/C
* V70 spoiler
* All interior lights have been replaced and work(!)
* Head unit comes with a Yatour so you can plug your phone in via headphone jack

I paid $2500 for it unreg., spent maybe $1k on it, and now I'd like to pass it on for $4000 even, which I think is very fair considering $1000 of that is rego.

If you want to buy it interstate let me know and I'll work out the price with rego cancelled.

I'll add more photos tonight of the interior etc.
See that nice 240 in the the reflection of the first pic. I wonder who owns that :0
Got any pics of the CF valve cover?

Sounds like a good price!
Sell the CF cover seperate?
it looks fast.

from personal experience... you will regret selling it.
I regret not fixing mine and keeping it.
Yeah I don't really want to sell it, but I also don't want to sink the kind of money I'd need to into it in order to really like it.

I'm sure many great cars will pass through my hands over the years. This one is certainly great but the timing is poor.

Looks great, if I get another V70 I'd love to get one of those!

I know how it is, last year I had the dream 242 but sold it because I didn't drive it enough or have the time to give it the love it deserved.

It was poor timing for me also, I miss it somedays but it had to be done.
Yeah , i understand.
245 went the same way...
Send GLE an email and get him to list it on the Volvo NSW club page

You wont get him till after easter. He will be too busy riding motorbikes and crashing 4wds with me :D
I was keen in this car at the start of last year, but James beat me to it - it'd have been a great starting point for my current project and a fair way ahead of where mine was when I got it.
10 days later
Is the car still for sale? Would like to see some more pics.
