Volvo S60 head unit replacement

Hey everyone, I'm new. I just got a 2003 S60 and I want to replace the head unit to a DVD player. I did some research and apparently I can't do so without uploading a program to the main ecu, and I can only get it from a dealer. My question is, can anyone recommend a reliable dealer in Sydney who can help me out? Thanks a lot.

News to me also.
I've replaced the HU in my S60 without issues.
I did buy the Volvo 2 Din fascia plate which makes the physical install easy.

Then its just a case of getting the right adapter loom and you're good to go.

Well funny enough a UK volvo forum, said people had problems with things like air con and sunroof once they removed it, then they had to go to the dealer for that ecu update.
Philia Bear, what about the can-bus sytem? And I shall do the service later next week.

Cam, could you tell me where you got your facial plate and adapter loom please? Thanks guys.

I think i bought the fascia from Tasca, the loom was from ebay.
The looms depend on if you have the factory amp or not. (its under the drivers seat)

You will have issues if you disconnect the CCM while the battery is ~~dis~~connected (SRS Service)

CCM = Climate Control Module
SRS Service relates to your AirBags

It has to go to volvo for the software update
Do it before you swap the stereo
You want a total can bus reload
Its iirc about 450 or so and includes every module on the car being updated

Also, I'm assuming they have notorious transmission problems? Anything I can do besides the fluid flush/service?

possibly nothing.
possibly your transmission will just die.

not really much you can do besides the flush and software upgrade.

OK. So just to be clear, are you saying that if I replace my head unit, my transmission may explode? Or only if I don't take car of my transmission (I.e. regular services, etc.)?

your transmission may explode regardless of what you do with the head unit.
