It can be done but you have to drill out the factory rivets and use hi tensile bolts there's 2 sizes of balljoint depending on vin number. If it's just a split boot maybe you can just find a similar size boot and try to replace the stock one. Repco keep some generic ones in stock

You would probably need to remove the arms anyway to drill the large rivets out on the bench, and it's enough hassle that I would recommend just getting upgraded arms like the superpro offering.
I only did it on my c30 in order to run roll centre adjusters (available from hardrace in 8mm or 20mm thickness) due to how low my ride height is with the air suspension.
