Hi
Vehicle details: Volvo XC60 2009 model (VIDA seems to say 2010 when reading the vehicle)
I am in a Situation where I have no keys that are programed for my vehicle (they were both lost), I have purchased a new Genuine key remote and the blade from a Volvo dealer and now I need to have this new key programed into the vehicle. Currently the vehicle is sitting stranded on a car trailer as it is stuck in park and the electronic hand brake is on, it also has a broken timing belt, (hence why the car was left to sit and unfortunately the keys where lost). Being still on the car trailer, I can take the vehicle to Volvo if need be, but I was hoping to avoid that if possible as I'm not that close to any dealers.
I have Vida 2014d (cracked) running and also a Volvo Specific VXDIAG that I can connect to and read the car with
from what I have understand, basically the only way to program a new key is to have a subscription for VIDA and to also purchase the software functionality within VIDA to program the key. Another way I found was using Abrites but that looks to be extremely expensive and not practical for a once off.
My key is the type where the remote slides into the slot below the start/stop button.
Is it possible to purchase a short subscription and the software functionality in Australia? I am more than happy to pay as it will be less hassle then carting the car around on the car trailer.
Am I correct in what I am saying with the method of programing keys?
Does anybody know another way I can program the key?
I am located in Queensland Australia, in the south east corner.
thanks in advance for your help
