  • P3 V70/XC70 roof lining removal

So, I have a leak in the rear of my 2008 V70. I'm 99% certain it's coming in via the roof rail, however, I don't know where exactly. As pretty as the water feature is during heavy rains, I need to fix it.

I reckon if I can get the rear of the roof lining down by 100-200mm I'll be able to see what is going on and seal it (??). My question is

how big a job am I looking at?

Do I need to disconnect power/disable airbags?

Thanks

You sure the holes go through?

I would have thought a threaded bit spot welded in the rail trough like the P80s had.

You can just remove the rear C pillar covers and upper plastic trim (with the light in it) fairly easily.

This will give you a bit of room to get in there with a torch and see if you can spot the leak.

The roof lining is mostly held in by the Jesus handles, interior lights, a/b/c pillar trims and sunvisors.

I'm not sure removing the C pillar covers will be enough. I believe the leak is at the front of the rear support for the roof rail.

That's all I do to fit new tailgate struts

Okay, I'll have a look once the rain stops again.
