1997 Volvo 850R Wagon in Olive Green. Automatic.
approx. 330,000kms on car, about 120,000kms on engine recently replaced.
Am Selling my 850R again, i bought it back only a few months ago with plans to restore it back to its former glory, but suddenly ended up finding something else that was a better choice and something i had been wanting for a long time, (05 Shark Nose Saab 9-5 Aero) and I’ve already got a better R that needs work too.
-its in rather rough shape as you can see, (last photo is a few years back when it was washed shows what it did/could look like! but its still an 850R wagon deep down and would be great once fixed up maybe even with a manual swap and some mods. they are getting harder to find and expensive so even this would be worth restoring.
-Engine was replaced a few years ago with a good low mileage and slightly newer one, runs well no issues would just need the basics done and a service as its been sitting a while.
-Does need a Transmission, auto seems to completely die once warmed up. can drive briefly cold then stops. not a huge cost to replace but would be perfect for a Manual Transmission swap!
-needs all the brakes replaced, and fluid
-suspension is very very soft would been an overhaul
-needs the 850R Volan wheels (few leads if needed)
-has a normal T5 interior as the cream 850R interior was taken out by previous owner, but is mostly complete, needs a few bits here and there, headliner sagging
-missing lower front bumper but will come with car not fitted - needs battery
-all the basics work fine (lights, wipers, climate, audio, windows etc)
-roof and bonnet need a re spray, sided and boot ok but probably worth either a good cut and polish or paint the whole car.
-needs a good clean up and some love but someone will get a good car out of it, or worse case part out.
can provide more info and some prices and lists of exactly what it would need to get it to a roadworthy state and some ideas on brake and suspension upgrades from Ash @ DVS.
Price is reasonably negotiable as i need it gone.
