Caught up with my old boss from nearly 40 years ago.

Last time I worked for him 40 years ago he drove a red manual 780 wagon

He hated the gear ratios on it. Needed a wagon because he had 5 girls.

Anyway i asked him if he still drove volvos and he said no moved on to a peugeot 505 8 seater wagon after that and said it was the best car he ever had and wished he still had it.

Very rare car now,

Uber cool, wish cars like these were a common sight and not all the garbage we have on the roads today.

Every time I see a 504 I'm reminded it's on my bucket list.

Yep, bro inlaw had one , three children , rode like a magick carpet, drove in places most today would buy a 4wd for.

There are two other old-fashioned proper long-lasting cars in my street: a Peugeot 505 wagon and a Mercedes 280SE. The Merc has the same k-jet injection as a 70s-80s Volvo. The Peugeot has the PRV motor same as a 264. The owner says that there's demand for 264 engines as they were the best version of the PRV. I don't know how they're different from the Peugeot version.
