  • WTB engine to suit 1998 v70r AWD auto

Hi

I'm sure a lot of you have seen my thread in troubleshooting.

So yeah I'm in need of a decent B5234twhatever

(As far as I can tell they're all the same inside. I might be wrong about that tho)

I'm located in Sydney but I'm not bothered where the engine comes from as long as I can get it to my place somehow.

Oh and if anyone has an engine crane they're looking to get rid of let me know!

If you use an RN motor from P1 series , v70,s60,xc70 , put a cam lock on the variable cam it is a much better motor. Swap over all your parts to it or have an added bonus if you get a better turbo.

These P1s are scrapped due to gearboxes,a throw away car. Should be cheap to get whole car even. Scrap it afterwards, the money for scrap should pay for car itself.

are all the engine mount positions the same? should it just be a bolt in swap? how about ecu's and stuff like that? plug and play?

im certainly open to an rn but im scared of running into compatibility issues.

    thanks!

You use your ECU etc , there are plenty of DIY threads on the net , the VVT lockout thing is available somewhere too iirc.

Need the front alloy mount from a p80 that had the rn engine, few bolts to remove

Looks nice and well kept! Have you got a service history on it? Can you do a compression test to give the OP some sense of security? Price? Thanks!

Purchased from dealer in 2015 . Runs so smooth I actually drove it over my s60R at one stage. Last 3 years I have just run it around the block to keep the parts in order. As it was purchased as a spare for parts for my C70 manual. But at the time it ran so well I couldnt get myself to cut its life. But the time as come as my sunroof exploded on the manual so Its time to start the process, If it doesnt work Im happy to refund you as I know its fine.

        Cheers
