Hey all, so I've given up my search for a C30, as I can't find a good example. So I'm leaning towards an S40 instead.

I found a clean, low mileage example that was serviced a couple of weeks ago prior to sale.

If you look at the dipstick, the oil kind of smears everywhere and isn't 'built up' like I'm used to seeing on previous cars. The dipstick's hard to take out and insert, so maybe it was just rubbing against the tube, I'm not sure. There's what appears to be rust in the tube and some milky substance under the oil cap. It's not currently dropping oil or leaking coolant, even thought there's white, mottled spots marks on the metal underneath.

What do you think? The oil is a bit yellow and transparent, but I guess that's normal.

The oil marks in the engine bay is just where it dripped off the dipstick while taking the photo.

Looks like it's been sitting for a while that's how the motor I bought for my S40 looked its only done 60 thousand k's but how mAny years it's been inthe wreck at the wrecking yard I'd anybodys guess I'll but that's exactly how the alloy looked. And going by the inside of the oil cap it's had engine in shampoo used to flush it out there the dirty carbon stains in the cap but the oil is really clean

The engine bracket on my C30 looks similar - just normal corrosion on the cast aluminium bracket I'd say. Also the dipstick on our C30 is pretty hard to pull out initially...I think probably just due to the dual O-rings...and yes, the oil kinda smears when you pull it out so hard to see where the level actually is.
