Here's the situation: I want to fit DVS GAZ coilovers (with Kaplhenke spherical strut mounts) along with S60R brakes and rotors to the front of my 244 - I have all of this hardware already. To clear the brakes I need 17"+ wheels, I currently have 15" wheels.
Given there's next to no off the shelf wheels for Volvos with the offset, caliper clearance and PCD (not to mention style) that I want, I will need to get custom wheels, likely a model of Work wheels as they are mostly highly customisable (I have looked at Simmons, but I don't like them).
Because I can't fit the coilover and brake package under my 15" wheels, the only feasible way to measure for the new wheels is to fit all my new gear, make the measurements and then leave the car on stands and wait for the wheels to be made and delivered (3+ months). I can take some of the measurements by fitting the brakes and rotors to the coilover outside of the car, but I will be missing key measurements that I can only get whilst having them fitted (for instance, hub to guard distances).
I would love to avoid having my car sitting useless on stands for 3 months or more, but, the measurements need to be dead-on as I'm getting completely custom wheels. Has anyone got any advice on a better way to do this? I feel like I can't be the first person in this position.
