About once a week, I get a warning light that the coolant is low. I've been topping up with water only and I believe that there is no longer any antifreeze left. Am I pushing my luck running with only water in the radiator?
Secondly, I cannot see any dripping after a long run, nor is there any wet spots under the car. All of the hoses look good, but it is impossible to actually see the radiator core (or the heating core). She runs a little rough at idle, but OK when travelling. Could I have a leaking head gasket?
Short of taking it to a radiator shop for a pressure test, could I get away with adding some sort of stop leak additive? Any recommendations for which? Is the overflow reservoir the only place to add any such additive?

Running rough could be a HG issue... could also just be old plugs or a dozen other things
A pressure test with spark plugs removed (once cold and once hot) would give you a good chance at a diagnosis
