Trying to fit an aftermarket (Sony) head unit to a 1999 S40.
It seems these cars were available with an optional amplifier, which this one has, but that means there is no plug-in adapter harness available.
We got an adapter which is apparently for this car but it's clearly different, although everything I can find online mentions this as the adapter to use.
Top photo are the plugs in the car, bottom photo is the adapter:

I'm assuming it's possible to just cut off the Volvo plugs and splice the wires, but I'm not 100% sure because of the factory amp, and even then I would have no idea where to start because I can't find a suitable wiring diagram online to tell me which wire is which.
Has anyone successfully found a solution to this?
(I think it's similar for P80 models as they use the same head units)
