Ad says $2500, but has sticker on the windscreen saying $1998.
I went and had a look today. Story is that it was a local's grandfather's car, one owner, etc. ACT rego until 22nd(?) of April.
409,xxx km.
Runs and drives pretty well, although the engine oil was dirty and transmission fluid was low (and discoloured).
Straight water in the cooling system.
Oil leaks at the front of the motor, lots of wet grime built up.
Shocks all very soft.
Front control arm bushes buggered, and have taken out the shoulder of the LHF tyre.
Interior is funny. Driver's door pocket not cracked(!!) but other bits missing or damaged. And obviously the blue driver's seat.
Heater fan is very noisy.
AC doesn't work - compressor doesn't kick in, so presumably low on gas.
Body is quite straight and seems rust free, but there's deep scratches in the paint on the RH rear quarter and the driver's door that have been
very badly touched up with a too-light coloured paint.
Same terrible touch up on LHR door/quarter panel. Has taken a scrape across the LHR wheel arch that looks like it would polish out.
Plastic on the bottom of the driver's door has been re-stuck with Sikaflex and they've made a mess of it - got Sikaflex in lots of places it shouldn't be.
I was still sort of interested, if the price was right. I was thinking that it would be a deal for anything under $1200 anything over $1500 was walk away territory.
So I asked what the bottom line was, and was informed that the price was the price.
Rather than having an argument, I said thanks and walked away.
tl;dr It's a solid car but realistically it needs work and will still never be a really nice car.
