Ah OK, will be the Renault gearbox not the m56. Coises! Vaguely looking for a 2.0 non turbo with m56 for possible shenanigans if you come across one.

So, what's the go with Renault boxes being used? Which models,when,why etc? Don't know anything about this.

Non turbo S/v40's up to 01 ish came with a different tranny. Sometimes, inexplicably, they don't though. I think @spac has researched more.

It has the tranny that always gives the shits hard to find a good one, at present we have 2 complete drivable cars it is the renault box non turbo car.
The Turbo S40 uses a Volvo box and they are stronger than the French unit, the start of the issue will be a wine noise from the internall diff, les come and drive one they sound unreal.
