A workmate offered me the car, and for some reason I didn't turn it down.

I haven't seen it yet, I pick it up this weekend. Apparently it has 200k on the car and a WRX engine with 50k on it.

Rough plans:
Get it running - I've been told it's a fuel issue, possibly the pump
Renew the rego
Manual conversion - already have this lined up
Swap all the good parts from the other Foz
Basic mods like intercooler and exhaust
Probably some cosmetic stuff

I loved my Foz GT. Just keep an eye out for head gaskets that could go, as well as burning oil, as your motor gets older.
Cheers. I know they're not as reliable as the NA and are a bit harder to work on, but hopefully the extra torque is worth it.
You could sell old one to my mate, with the good bits? Or good rwc for a Rego in Victoria? Is it auto though?
The old one is an 02 Limited manual. It makes more sense for me to swap parts over than buy it all again.
Na manual boxes are not compatible with turbo cars if they are like gc impreza era foresters, cable vs hydraulic clutch, weaker box etc.

My SF NA Foresters are hydraulic clutch, however there's push and pull types.

The white SF has a gearbox from an SG 2.5 which is stronger with taller ratios (compared to the SF NA), and people have successfully done this swap in order to gain dual range in a GT.

I can get a full manual conversion "kit" from an 01 GT manual locally, so I'll probably go that way.

I know a bloke selling an NA manual in Penrith for $200, it looks pretty nice. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to convert to auto.

It passed. I'm really not used to driving an automatic.

Is it faster than the na manual?
Yep! Much more mid range, but feels very restricted at higher revs.

On the hill where the manual NA is in 4th at WOT, the GT is cruising in OD.
