Sorry didn't get pics of interior.. been a very rushed arvo and ran out of light. It's kinda dark beige inside.. Oak perhaps? and has woodgrain. Seats are green-grey.
I love this car!

Great colour, will he following too, there ain't too many of use with these car on the rd
bigal
I believe the paint is called Sandstone Pearl Metalic. Will verify.
Unfortunatley the car didn't come with a service book but does have a handful of recent receipts and the owners manual. Nevermind, I shall buy a new blank service book or folder and kick off from a fresh start. As mentioned, the engine needs to come out and all the common things attended to. Luckely the PCV was done a week or so ago so that's one less task.
Btw it's done 225k kms
Todays tasks - a wash and get rid of the ciggies. Poor bloody car deserves better!
I will make this Volvo great again!

Wow, nice! I do love that colour too. Looking forward to seeing some interior pics. Is it manual or auto?
Philia_Bear
Mmm reliable 4 speed auto or 5 speed manual?
bigal
4 speed auto. That good? I've heard they're pretty good. Shifts beautifully.

darcher93
Well, well, well. Isn't this an interesting turn of events?
This is but isn't my car @bigal . BUT, I do know this car exceedingly well. Would you like the briefing?
bigal
Haha Yes please. Fire away. ?
darcher93
Okay, so the car was purchased a number of years ago by one of my close friends. The car at the time needed a whole bunch of work done to it. Prior to my friend purchasing the vehicle, my v70xc was written off by another one of my friends and as such, it was used as a parts car for this v70xc. I can't remember the full details, but I know that a whole bunch of stuff was used from my wreck to keep this car running. I had a bunch of Eibach springs lying around and they went into the v70xc, hence why the car is lower than standard. My mate then decided to sell the car about a year or so ago to another one of my friends and it ended up as a daily for the remainder of that time. Of recent, the car had developed some interesting electrical gremlins (speedo dropping out etc) and other miscellaneous leaks which meant my friend decided to sell the car. The car has since then passed hands to someone else, of whom may have fixed the electrical problems. I am not too sure what condition it is in at the moment but it was a pretty decent car when it was living in Hobart.

Thanks @darcher93 . Good to learn of its recent history.
I suspect some electrical gremlins still exist.. for some reason the battery didn't have enough juice to start the car yesterday. I left it on the Ctek overnight so hopefully should start tonight.. It got me wondering why the battery got flat after a drive from Ulverstone to Launy. Must be something draining the battery when it sits. All good, will sort that. Speedo been good.. no issues there so far.
The car has now been nicknamed Exxon due to it's rear main seal oil leakage (reference to Exxon Valdez). Understandable why it's been sold a number of times recently.. big task to sort it properly! I'm looking forward to the engine removal and tidy up.
Was this originally a Victorian car? Did it come with a service maintenance book?
Cheers, Al.
Ex850R
Battery rooted by sounds.
darcher93
Good choice of name. I am not too sure what is draining the battery but it may be that the battery is on its last legs. I don't think it was a Victorian car, given its on the old style Tasmanian plates, but it very well could have spent a year or so in Victoria before being shipped off to Tasmania. I am not sure about service maintenance book.. I will check with my mate.

Speedo drop out is commonly the ABS module in these years. You can cut it open and reflow the solder and add some more
bigal
Thanks. Also, do you or your friend still happen to have the original XC springs? I may be tempted to go back to stock 'Granny Spec' ride height.
Inspiration..

@Rob might still have the ones from the donor for his awd c70 too
