Finally getting stuck back into the wagon after the holidays. Today I got the remaining mastic cleaned off the windscreen mounting flange. I'm planning to set the new windscreen in place to see how it fits as well as see if the 2 spots where the rubber lip is bent over will come back into place. Once I confirm that I'll ring the local windscreen guy and find out how much for him to come over and urethane it in for me.

Also sprayed some cleaner on the black fabric front seat upholstery. Looks like it came up pretty well. I sprayed the stuff on, sponged it a bit, then sprayed with water, wrung out and now drying. Notice the fire hose connection in the background of the photo...that goes to our garden water thank. Hope we never have to use it! :( The fires around AUS are terrible at the moment. Hope everyone is safe.

I also had a go at using some polisher/cleaner on the bonnet. It looks like a mediocre re-spray job at some stage, so not great, but it’ll probably look OK in full sun/outdoors once I wax it.
Can’t recall if I said this before, but I noticed the passenger side front seat on the burgundy wagon has the hand-adjust levers for front and rear height same as driver, so I’ll probably use that seat base frame for the 245. Will also use the driver’s seat base frame as the rear attach bolt tab snapped off the 93 sedan seat frame I had planned to use. Will be good to have this 2nd (or is it 4th?) set of front seats to pick the best bits to make up 2 good seats. Might at least have functional lumbar support on both seats! :) Also may be able to use passenger side foams if they’re in better condition than driver’s side (typical).
Once I have the front seats out of the burgundy wagon, I’ll check the foam underlay pads and hopefully they won’t be as cracked as the ones I got from the 93 sedan. Those were functional but not great (still heaps better than the 79 ones though!) Really need to get my backside out to Knox Carpet and pick up the carpet as that’ll be holding me up soon as far as the interior reassembly goes.
