Volvo 240 Wagon Roof Tent

Hi there,

After taking my Volvo on a weekend away camping to Bright I was looking into other options and came across the following pictures:

- Has anybody got a similar setup?
- I'm guessing I'd have to buy different racks to handle 2 people (~ 150kg). I'm also 6'4 which could be a drama?
- where could I buy a roof top tent, I'm liking the style of the tent mounted on the green wagon.

Thanks for any advice you might have ?

I have a Kings kwiky pop up. Not on a Volvo but camp in it heaps. Can recommend.

I think for two people you'd need to use more racks, like four or even six maybe.

Worked with mad bloke who built a very compact aluminium self supporting rack base that had a lift up top, cantelevered with canvas tarp type top and sides.
On top of his Landover v8. P76 V8 OF course.

For rooftop tents a trip to a 4WD shop would be a good idea. eg ARB. Or you could flick through he 4wd magazines in the local newsagent.

Darche appears to be a good brand at the moment; James Baroud is considered top of the line.

I was so much luckier with my 145, 245 and 240 - 6'2" height is perfect for the 74" long flat floor with the back seats down. The v70 i've got for my son is about 4" too short so i keep my eye open for a good manual 240..
