Thanks, bit hard to hear with the noise cancelling on the Nikon and the wind, but it is fairly quiet at idle.
The note definitely sounds throatier than stock, really happy with how it sounds.
I used to have the 6.4L Jeep, that had a rumble like most V8s, this is a more refined open type note.

Looks and sounds great. How are the springs settling in?
know1
Thanks.
Springs are good, a bit firmer ride than standard R-Design but not bone jarringly hard. The plus side is the handling is a lot flatter. I also had front control arm bushes replaced with powerflex purples so that would've helped as well. Eibachs feel solid and there's no movement when trying to push on the front guard. The rattle in the front I was concerned could be the springs turned out to be just a loose bolt in the firewall. They had to remove quite a bit getting the downpipe in, apparently not exactly a DIY job.
I've noticed the power delivery is a lot flatter across the RPM range too, haven't had it on the dyno though to quantify, that's just seat of the pants measurements. GF drove it to the gym this morning and said she thought it had more acceleration, could be the exhaust or intercooler, I'll never know now exactly which had the most effect but the drive is definitely improved.
Have a trip to Tassie planned in Aug for a mate's birthday, normally fly as it's easier but decided a road trip this time is definitely worth the extra hassle of the boat. Looking forward to some of the corners down the east coast.

Sounds good.
I have the same car no mods yet but definitely tempted. Have you updated the tune to reflect the mods?

I used these guys to chip my C30 T5 recently to stage 1 with no mods and made it go like a beast. They do a stage 2 to Polestar tuned S60 see link above.

You still have to send your ecu to them.
The Polestar upgrade itself is on sale at Bilia Volvo for the next month.
Otherwise we all need to chip in for a car to share in turn while we send our ECU s away!

I haven’t done my S60 yet but with my C30 I just emailed the original tune file and in two days he emailed me back the modified file to upload. I can change my C30 back to original at anytime by just uploading original file. Bonus is Volvo can’t tell because they modify original unless they drive it.

Did a bit of research and actual HP/torque improvements seem to vary, not just with the Hilton but with a few different tunes. Lots of people (and some dyno graphs) saying the tune for more torque down low so it feels faster but actual HP gains are minimal across the range. I like the Hilton can swap back in the original file handy for resale or if there's an issue.
Logically a tune is the next step to improve performance, but it's a big outlay though without and real hard numbers and may not be a huge improvement.

These ECUs are locked, you need to send it to them. When you do a P* upgrade at Volvo dealer it's online to ?? for an hour or so being decoded and reflashed.
Hton would be the same but you have to physically send ecu as do BSR and Rica.

FYI
I received the below from Robert Hilton. He can do it remotely. Not sure if I’m ready to take the jump yet.
Sounds easier to hot up the C30. Since the tune I’ve been enjoying it more than the S60.
The process of tuning the 2013 S60 Polestar is a little different than the 2010 C30, in that we have to schedule a remote appointment where we connect to your laptop and work on the car. However, the entire process can still be done remotely, no need to send the ECU to me and there isn't any downtime on the car. We can get started as soon as you order online!
Thank you,
Rob

Yeah sounds a little risky. Think I'll drive it as is for a bit, then when I get bored start pouring more cash into it ;)

Good to know @davidbigboy! He is on the ball! I've only heard good stuff about Hilton, I was going to go with them if I kept my v70r.
The volvo dealer has a caveat that the P* upgrade depends on their internet working, that's why it vary in time from 1hr onwards...
If it fails, I dunno, maybe you get a demo car to take home till they sort it?
But Hilton works out same price for a tune that he could update as parts are added so maybe I'll put off the volvo one.

Today's 5 min job, one of the keys had a very worn rubber button thing, so ordered a replacement. Weird thing is they had a 5 button grommet on it but the circuit board was for a 6 button remote (like the other one). So I got a 6 button grommet and the alarm and info buttons now work properly.
Also today dropped the car off at
eyecandy can't wait to see the results.

Oooh, a detailer? What processes and products?
know1
Nope no detail, well possibly. Everything on the road is black, white, grey or silver. The downside to buying second hand is you don't get a choice of colour. Time to rectify that. That's all I'll say for now ?
Ex850R
Ooooh, GOLD shiny wrap!!
Ex850R
My children named my v60 'Donkey', it's greyish....
Maybe a top surface wrap for me too,
Zebra..

I'm going to guess by the fact it went to nosecandy it will be a fluro or gold. That's their thing, otherwise you go to a better priced place.

I see why new cars only come in a handful of colours, I mean besides economic reasons. When you have a a swatch book 2 inches thick with every shade under the sun where do you start. Then add the choice of matte, satin, gloss, chromes, colour flips
Bloke at the pub said he'd do a colour change for $50 if I bought the house paint, weirdly there's more to some decisions than just how cheap it is.
Ex850R
50 bux! Cheapest upgrade you could do!
It wasn't Pro Hart was it?
