Been held up quite a bit. Was busy for a couple months, + every weekend it seems to rain. I think I'm going to say stuff it and buy a turbo heater for the garage, seal it all up, put in an extractor fan and paint indoors.

bugger there has been so much rain, i cant wait to see your car!!! was shocked to see the yellow the blue on 244 is so nice ,, but looks good !! anyway good to see some1 put so much effort into the 244 it is 1 of the best volvos in my opinion. i get people talkin to me all the time with mine ,need xtra time when i go out because people love to chat about it,,,let me know when u r done love to see it......all the best karl

It's a B21F with a 405 head, K-cam, and M46. Should be a good bit of fun.

Couple of apparently very good early 244s on scumtree for $2k ono (each). Be worth keeping an eye on them to see how quickly they sell. ;)

My 242 GT was $3k several years ago...not worth that now.
My '77 DL with slightly faded paint, tiny bit more rust than yours, but otherwise well maintained was given to me free with 5 months rego...
My 245L van was $100...
We bought a high mileage but tidy '79 wagon for $500 about 7 years ago.
Pretty straight '84 with a dead motor but near new tyres was $200 for parts.
We were given a tired '81 wagon, also given a faded paint '81 sedan.
Paid $200 for an early wagon with manual box because I wanted to strip it for the manual conversion and early front panels...
Yours is worth $1k tops with rego. $1500 for a sucker.

Once I've finished my 244DL I'll probably buy a couple of spares and part them and store the parts. I think I'd like to keep this car for a very long time, unless it completely falls apart on me, which it probably will because I didn't know you could buy zinc paint until I'd already fixed half the rust.
