Need to do a super temporary repair on the pictured sump (only to run engine and see if is obviously rooted due oil loss).
Have seen plenty of JB weld repairs on the net but as best I can tell they're only suitable where there's not a nasty big hole.
I've come up with a couple of ideas in my head but the only one I can think will actually work (without removing pan and welding properly, welder won't tack on a plate with pan on car) is to form up a small piece of lead flashing and attach with liquid gasket. Lead melts at 328 Celcius so it should be good enough.
Any better ideas?
Almost certainly some debris in the pan, I'm thinking they'll be heavy enough and big enough not to cause problems at the oil pick up screen.
