See the Attached gumtree Add - I will add some interior pics later in the week. - most of the details are provided on gumtree.
I had planned this as a restoration project - but its beyond my skill set time and patience.

Original 850T5R with Factory reco Engine with about 30K , Car has done 225k

It runs fine , but clutch , passanger CV , and turbo needs attention or reconditioning.

The car as a new set of koni shocks front and rear , Sports exhaust and window tint and alarm with central locking
I would suggest someone who is good with 850's and would like to bring it back to its former glory or just likes working on high pressure turbo performance vehicles consider it as a restoration project.

I have a Second set of titans - fitted to Vehicle are almost new condition plus the originals with some gutter rash both with Tyres ( as Spares ) - plus some Volvo memorabilia ( few magazines with 850r t5r articles and the 1995 850r Dealer Pricel list with service book ).

I am hoping to find it a good home rather than let someone part it out... its a 20 year old car that retailed for a premium price and a very fast brick on wheels in its glory day.

I will update the pics. Some of the ones provided are the originals on pickup and I have cleaned up some of the missing items such as fuel rail cover , tape on throttle body and incorrect turbo boost valve. Not sure but it may be a cat back exhaust as the catalytic converter is still there. I have removed the aftermarket stereo and amp in boot but left the speakers mounted in the doors.

If i could buy a $100,000 car i kmow for sure its gonna be worthless before too long these days. You dont buy em as an investment!

I got excited for a moment.
If it was yellow, I'd be all over it.

At $2900, someone should pick it up though.

Questions -
1/ Whats the bracket near the cluster above the steering column?
2/ What exhaust system? IPD?
3/ Whats the electrical tape around the throttle cable for?
4/ Where is the breather plumbed to?
5/ Where has the fuel rail cover gone?
6/ Was the speaker installer punished?

Anyway, looks like a neat starting point for a mini-project.

In reply and I will try add some more pics in the following days,
1. I have rectified most of the missing or incorrect parts
2.The Fuel rail cover replaced was missing and replaced
3.Breather valve replaced now stock did nothing also put on another turbo cover for the box
4. IDP boost controller gorn now stock - screwed up the turbo
5, Hands free controller removed with stereo and duff duff amp
6. Some things are better left unsaid as is with the speakers.
7. I personally can't vouch for the previous owner but ther details are in the log book and some invoices.

Didnt notice the airbox at first.
The box cover in the pic is a very late 850 or x70 with SAS box. Wonder why someone had changed it.

Anyway, I'd think it sounds like reasonable value given the rarity, etc.

I think there were around 5000 t5r woirld wide 3000 black ones and 1975 or something similar yellows world wide and the rest were green, but u see the 850 r came out in black aswell and they were mainly a main stream model, green aswell. the yellow ones were only produce for that one year only late 1994 to late 1995, I think u are better off to keep your car only because its a t5r and what eles is out there that is quick, safe and reliable?

to put a number on it, there was a Yellow 850 T5R for sale on Carsales a few months ago. Last price I remember seeing was $11k ?
Not sure if it sold or not.
It's very hard to sell an 850R for a decent price, let alone a T5R.
Restore it if you want to keep it, but dont think you can fix it and sell it quickly for $10k.

This is really true.
An 850R is a 'better' car, albeit not as rare, than the T5R.
On top of that, they're only worth something to people who know what they are.

I think you'd struggle to get $10k for even a very good black T5R.
That said, I'd pay somewhere near that for a reasonably good yellow one.

As you said Ash , 'only worth something to people who know what they are" and even then the market is so small.....
In the States the young guys all love Volvo's , here they hot up , dump and bling Commodores so really the market for Volvo is scarce.
Cars needing work are worth very little and the cache of an R/T5R is lost on everyone but you and peeps ypu know in the Volvo forum so in reality a LPT or a T5 with a tune and some suspension is going to satisfy to be cheaper for anyone wanting a fast fun car that is not a holden so there is your dilemma.....
By all means store it for 20 years , it may be worth something but still , only to a limited audience.....
I paid $32,000 for my 850R , 1996, 855 ,Manual ,RED Black interior in near perfect condition with 68,000K way back when. its worth $4-8000 now even with 150,000K (but its been crushed anyway) so figure out what you will from that!

Exactly.
In my own case, since I couldnt easily find a T5R, I am just as happy with the V70T5 as I'd have been with an 850R.
Given my intentions too, an 850R is probably a waste with what I have in mind.

Its needs to much money spent on, I drove it last week, needs clutch and gear box, no 5th gear, dash board replacement, full respray, needed rust in rear end from smash damage, Mark from Vp tuning had 4 pages of stuff required just for a RWC.
To my info Voldat has made an offer more than I would offer.
I bought my T5R for 2k and that was 4 years ago with 199k on the clock with nothing more than stolen recovered, sounded like an insurance job to me. and it was black, 15 yellow T5Rs cam we to oz and 5 black plus one special order green auto this is in qlds

It doesn't need a new paint job, it's a collectors car, so I reckon it's worth that money, it's better to see it being put back onto the road rather than being dismantled, don't you think? ☺️
