Tzantushka Nautic Blue Nice... 1998 Volvo V70 R Manual 4WD Anyone from here? Uh-oh - noticed the Lambda light is on...
Ex850R Light is always on after so many miles and age... O2 sensor/s. Nice car. Bit exxy but may be worth it if kept to "stage 0", fat that light is on says no... otherwise should be cheaper.
ToomanyVolvos Is an 850R in same condition the more collectable? $ wouldn't be too far off its always been garaged (no clear coat issues, fade etc) and they are highway miles with good thorough services. If not should be much cheaper IMO.
Tzantushka Immediate reaction is the price is a bit high... Redbook tells me *Private Price Guide $1,900 - $4,300 But, it looks in good shape and the rarity factor on an R in manual...
Ex850R More collectable? I'd say if it's in great condition then it's getting pretty rare so collectable. But, who collects these cars? As for more so than an 855R? Eye of the beholder... For me? An AWD 855R would be amazing...
ToomanyVolvos My whole point about collectivity was that the 850R / T5-R had Bathurst / Brock heritage and was a lighter and more pure platform (and I believe quicker) than the heavier vehicle the V70R had become. I do hope that old Volvo's (other than 1800's) have some real collectable appeal to more than just me, maybe not.

Redbook valued my car at $2300 on import, I wasn't arguing as I had to pay tax on it, Shannon's agreed value now is 20k,
Ex850R While I loved my 855R and enjoyed many iterations of P80s, all high boost turbos, to drive an AWD R with more power to compensate for driveline loss, you would appreciate just how much more sorted the car feels over a fwd car. So, with 850Rs becoming very rare in good nick, tthe V70R is its heathen child that is now collectable in good nick.
