AW71L gearbox and parts
$200 is a fair price yes.
Where is it located? cheers
I might need a second one for another car. Location and is definitely an L?
Located in coffs harbour but I regularly travel to qld if that helpsRamrodfunk;136978 wroteWhere is it located? cheers
I'm on the Gold Coast. Is it definitely an L?
Can you deliver next time you're up my way?
Yeah mate next weekend I'm up. Just the box? I've got from pedal box to selector and gear surround.
Sounds good to me.
Hey mate, just spoke to the previous owner, box has the accumulator mod done but all in great working order. If you still want it, all good. Just thought I'd let you know
I don't think that will matter as it's likely to go in a 164 or 262C.
Is it reversible?

You will barely notice it and it's better for the gearbox life.
However the L will not fit on a v6 motor. Bellhousing length is different and therefore the torque converter won't match, and the bolt pattern is not the same between the v6 and 4cyl but that is minor compared to the length issue.
I thought a 960 auto was going to be used for b20/30 conversion because of the similar bellhousing size?

Isn't the bellhousing removable? I've not got an AW70/71/72 L etc near me but always thought the actual "box's" were interchangeable so long as you have the correct bellhousing (V6/ redblock) for your application?
Sure hope so, I've kept a V6 AW71 on the shelf for 10 years purely because I assumed I could use a redblock bellhousing on it (never going to own a PRV V6).

What a sweet lookin box. I can confirm that it is a good condition box!
Yes. But the Lock up converter is not directly compatible with the prv, they are different lengths and you can't just use a prv aw71 torque converter because the L version has different internals to a non lock up model!ToomanyVolvos;137029 wroteIsn't the bellhousing removable? The puctured unit is for a b30, but it's not finished. Has it been tested on a engine before welding? The length is very important to get right to not load up the flex plate or the gearbox input shaft.
It doesn't apply to what I'm saying about a prv.
Vee_Que - I don't know all the details of the testing Rob Eldridge has been doing, so I can't answer that question.
It is going into my 164 but has not yet been installed.
