Very nice, I haven't installed mine yet.
Harder removing the old crusty. The new unit slipped in perfectly.
Hmm, it looks like maybe somebody replaced it at some stage. I assume your AC doesn't work given the switch in the centre console is not hooked up to the compressor wiring? Either that or the "floating" switch is set to a position that means the A/C is cycling on and off all the time...likely one of the switches is bad otherwise why would somebody put a 2nd one in there? Time for some experimentation! If you turn the knob all the way clockwise, the contacts should show continuity. If you turn it all the way anticlockwise until it clicks, it should show no continuity. In between, it will come on at some point depending on the temperature of the probe, so you should be able to hook up your multi-meter and turn the switch slowly clockwise from off (full counterclockwise) towards "max" (full clockwise) and the multi-meter will go from open circuit to continuity at some point in the travel. Hope that helps!
You get 12V on one of those green wires with the car running?

Things went a bit stale for a while. I was having a hard time getting into working on this car knowing all along I wanted a wagon. So I swapped my white 240 turbo for a nice older wagon.

So the gold sedan will probably get completely gutted and refitted to the wagon, it's harness has turned to powder. Should be able to make a nice interior out of the two as well.

Got the entire harness free; engine, lights, central locking, power windows/mirrors and entire rear half. Will just pull the firewall plate and keep everything in one piece for the swap. Big job.

The only wires I'll need to cut I think should be tail lights, but shouldn't be too hard to figure that out. Anyone else done a sedan to wagon full harness swap and know of anything to look out for?
Nice! I’m going to be doing that same thing when I swap the harness, driveline, interior etc. from my 93 sedan into my 79 wagon. Looks like fun! :)
Big job. Can't wait to pull everything from the wagon because I won't have to be so careful.carnut222;c-145430 wroteNice! I’m going to be doing that same thing when I swap the harness, driveline, interior etc. from my 93 sedan into my 79 wagon. Looks like fun! :)

Clunking could be bushes as well, or possibly strut top nuts or gland nuts.
Never looked into it but assumed it was shot shocks, still love the way the gold changes in all different lights

Good excuse for a full suspension refresh. After all it's almost at half a million clickscarnut222;c-146011 wroteClunking could be bushes as well, or possibly strut top nuts or gland nuts.

The entire harness from the sedan and firewall plate is free from the car, not the most fun I've ever had. Also the rear end is free under the car so the only thing left now is to pull the subframe and all suspension parts to freshen up and throw in the wagon. Then the sedan can go off to scrap and make room for the wagon.
