Decided to update this thread after 6 years .... Have been overseas for work majority of the time but that is not important.
Recently, I was in Aus for a short business trip and dig the car out of storage, it has not been ran for at least 2-3 years. The car fired right up, with no issues, idle like a champ even on Ostrich 2.0. Still running the $50 "Drift sales special" Nissan Skyline 45v2 (with 0P6 rear housing), ceramic turbine wheel so it does blow up if you push pass 14psi (but i guess with a 4 cylinder compared to the RB25 it came off of, it maybe under less stress?) 3 Years back, I had to replace the Bilstein B6 with some KYB stuff as they were done and it was something cheap just for the car to sit on.
Wanted to give the car some needed love, the car had been randomly dying when going over speed humps or after a car wash, so I thought it got to do with the wiring (had this issue for quite a while, but never found the actual issue).
Ended up forking out cash for a MaxxECU Mini (with the USD to AUD conversion and inflation, it was quite expensive and should have got with ECUMaster EMU Classic or Black instead, only like $200 extra for classic and $600 extra for black). Also instead of messing with the stock wiring, I had a shop rewire everything relating to the engine (including like ignition and fuel). Went with brand new D585 coils and Walbro 255 since I had them laying around. Also added a Yoshifab head mounted CAS adaptor and Yoshifab catch can with brand new hose. The ECU is running full sequential fuel and spark.
The car only makes 130rwkw on 10psi with stock B230FB (stock NA piston, 13mm rods, 531 Head and VX3 cam), previously with Ostrich it makes 123rwkw, but with the new ECU, the torque down low is sooo much better. Its still not quick with the AW71L but now at least reliable and won't die randomly.
I am still aiming for around 180rwkw, next step will probably a top end rebuild, cause only have around 110-120psi across all 4 cylinders, most likely go with a IPD Turbo Cam, some 46/38 valves and valve springs. And a "scramble boost" button and raise the boost to 14psi or so for a short period.
