beema41 Preparing my XC70 for the trip up to Queensland to retrieve my 264GL. Engine oil flush today & new fuel filter next week. Noted one tyre is close to the wear marker so will be replacing the entire set due to it being AWD. Previous tyres are Kumho KH18 & they've done 60k. Now considering other options, Pirelli scorpions? Kumho's again? Road noise is a big factor as well as grip. Suggestions?

Rob I have Pirellis on mine and they are excellent. Have never been a fan of them but they are certainly proving themselves on this car.
beema41 Bridgestone have released a new tyre called Ecopia EP 850 which is designed for the XC70 & similar vehicles. Apparently uses a new compound allowing higher silicon content and reduces fuel consumption by 3% with less rolling resistance. Interested to hear if anyone else has these tyres?
Rob beema41;15045 wroteDo you get good wear and are they quiet? Very quiet, I have only done 15 000km on them but they are wearing exceptionally even and at this rate will last a very long time. Grip is good too.
beema41 Today I got the Bridgestone Ecopia EP850's fitted all round with a wheel alignment too. There was of course an immediate difference but initial impression is they are super quiet and the car does tend to roll a lot easier, if that makes sense. Of course I could just be imagining all this. The real test will be in the mid and long terms and in the first shower or rain. I'm told the EP850's are good all weather tyre too so a trip up into the snow is on the cards this year.
