Got it roadworthy in January this year. Only needed a few light bulbs, heater core replaced and squirted jets so was nice and easy!.
After driving it for a bit for the most part goes really good. Slight hesitation on mild acceleration.
Got a stage 1 tune which woke the car up a fair bit, definantly more torque and a way better power curve. Ecu fixes hesitation and rev drops from the old auto ecu.
Brakes were sub par at best. Braking from higher speeds or any spirited driving felt sketchy so out with the old and in with dvs 320mm kit up front, new t3 disks and a1rm pads and braided lines. Rear got new disks pads and lines as well with fresh fluid.
Feels like a new car now, feels really solid and has great bite. It’s a must have upgrade to your turbo car.
Onto wheels, both rears have slow leaks so I organised a new set until I can find out why they are leaking and get them refinished.
Picked up some Neptune’s of a xc90 for cheap and has them powder coated gloss black, wrapped in 225 45 17 re003 tyres. Only tested in the dry but they have stupid amounts of grip. Car launches great and holds every corner it’s chucked into. Again I recommend these for sure.
Atm I’m working on the stereo. New head unit, amps, speakers and running new wire throughout! Will update when complete. Keeping stock harness intact and able to reuse stock headunit which was good.
Things to come.
Turbo rebuild with new lines and 7cm angle housing.
OBX exhaust or fill 3 inch custom depending on price.
Do88 intercooler with rip kit
Do88 radiator
Do88 turbo intake pipe
Elwood front seat covers
IPd sway bar kit
IPd tcv and silicone hoses.
Respray in same colour.
Possibly in the future tubular manifold and bigger turbo (gtx30) with a forged internals.
